Gemini Club is a three-piece indie-electronica band on the rise. With a number of well received remixes under their belt, and opening stints for the likes of Chromeo, A-Trak, Two Door Cinema Club and others, this is an exciting group to keep an ear out for. They’ve been touring extensively over the past two years, thrilling audiences with their unique style of live performance that is anything but conventional. The group uses a specially designed rig that allows for live-remixing completely on the fly and makes for a one-of-a-kind experience each time they take the stage. Their new EP Here We Sit is set to drop April 17th, you can pre-order it here. See below for the lead single and my personal favorite, “By Surprise”.

A ton of rad music and people are coming out of Chicago right now, guys. (Hometown WHAT WHAT!) One of the latest we want to clue you in: Gemini Club, an indie-electronic trio, and in our opinion, some of Chi-town’s finest. Dan Brunelle, Tom Gavin and Gordon Bramli are known for their unconventional live performances — the band has a special piece of machinery that allows them to create on-the-fly remixes of their tunes, making each and every live show different for their audience (science!). In case these guys aren’t headed to a venue near you soon, we’re thinking you’ll dig their recorded tracks just as much.

Ahead of our Double Door show tomorrow night, Tom was interviewed by the very popular Refinery29. Tom has always had great fashion sense and its nice to see him getting recognition for all his commitment. In the words of Tom “Buy American”
How would you describe your style as a band?
“Gemini Club’s style is unique to each member. Gordon probably looks like he’s in a band more than Dan and me, and that can be attributed to hoodies halfway covering the head, skinny jeans and high top sneakers. He generally wears gray, black or white. Dan is mainly a T-shirt and jeans guy, but lately he’s been donning these Top Man sport coats that dress up his usual looks.
I probably spend too much money on clothes. No, I do. I’m deeply interested in clothing produced in this country, and go out of my way to purchase garments made to last. Mixing rugged workwear pieces with more refined, dressy pieces allows me to go from my day job to gigs without having to change.”
